About the event

"A Binding Truth" is a documentary about two high school football teammates reconnecting later in life only to realize their same last name is no coincidence. Fifty years after their high school connection, De starts digging into his background only to discover that his family history included enslaving Jimmie’s family in past generations— a family secret unknown to Jimmie. De deals with the burden of guilt of his ancestors actions whereas Jimmie shoulders this news with resilience. This is a powerful film on acknowledging the past to heal’s one present.
